So she got permission to keep carving tools in her room. This included the sheath knife she uses for camping and several pocket knives as well as her carving stuff. I even shipped her a rifle stock (for a flintlock) to carve -- I did check with the head of her department before I did that! I understand that several visitors to her room were, shall we say surprised?, to walk in and find her carving a gunstock.
