I think the guy on the plane had merely handled dynamite in his work, he didn't actually have any in his luggage.

I wasn't suggesting that the acceptance of his business card was the wrong choice, common sense is always a good skill to keep honed. But it does imply that some racial profiling was probably going on, because I doubt the security folks would have let an Arab American through with just that unsupported documentation.
