This may well be a ray of hope. As to the Golan Hts.--that would be, to me, a huge mistake. Look what happened when Syria was n control of them---the slogan Never Again should surely apply there.

There is a film---now getting a rebirth--called The Impossible Spy. The story of Elie Cohen who worked his way up to the top of the Syrian hiarchy and was able to supply Israel w/ the locations of all the weapons there prior to Syrian attacks on Israel. He was hanged many years ago and the body is still in Syria.   The film came out in the 1980s and stars Eli Wallach and John Shea. Now on DVD.

The film merely states the story of Cohen, but you do find out the danger of having the Hts in aggressive hands. Just like in any battle situation---control the high ground.
