George - I remember you singing "Baba" to me when I came round to your studio in April 2004 to record harmonies for Les Sullivan's "Echoes of Mingulay", and it was still "work in progress". I'd gone through putting my mother into hospital and then a care home the spring and summer before, and she was going downhill with dementia (and died three months later). You very kindly gave me a lift to the Black Lion in Plaistow for a great session which enabled me to meet Sorcha, Kendall and Jacqui C.

And I'm also grateful to Tyke, who introduced me to Mudcat through a Mudgather with the Ducks in Whitby in August 2001, and so to lots more friends since!
