My father used to recite a shorter, possibly more realistic version of "It Couldn't Be Done":
They told him that it couldn't be done,
But he said, "Lead me to it!"
Then he tackled that thing that couldn't be done
And found that he couldn't do it.
(He also recited
I shot an arrow in the air,
It fell to earth I know not where.
I lose more damned arrows that way!
...but that's another story.)
