Thanks, I understand the difference now.

Some [usually older] folks where I live have folding shopping carts like the 2nd,4th, 5th,and 6th example shown on this page http://www.stacksandstacks.com/html/product50_0.htm. The cart is usually folded when they shop and then unfolded to carry their groceries home.

I've never seen a wicker shopping cart for sale or in use. I guess that means that I'm culturally deprived.
