During my 'Kevin Turvey investigates Folk Festivals' trip to Whitby this year, I witnessed a group of people performing traditional dance near the Whalebones, and they were all dressed up in black with red bits, with their faces covered, Mohammadan style. Did I witness the Warlocks of Halifax? Or the Morris Offspring? Jolly entertaining stuff, all the same.
