The problem, as we've discussed in other threads, is that propaganda is so easy to do--if the circumstances are right. If you have a country which is fearful, bitter, and uneasy, all you have to do is tell the population who to hate and fear--and blame for their problems.

All it takes is somebody unethical enough to exploit the situation--as in Germany in the 20s and 30s--or the Bush regime now.
