For what it is worth: I have worked on many stringed instruments over the years ( many guitars). I would be highly impressed with any human who had hearing sensitive enough to hear any difference in an instrument by installing different types of bridge pins . Would go so far as to suggest that if is mainly a state of mind rather than hearing. Complete installations of top nut, bridge sadddle and pins do however make a difference but can be better or worse depending on the sound you prefer.
