Thread Name: Write a song for Lincolnshire
Subject: RE: Write a song for Lincolnshire
I agree with the idea of using what you know in your music as in wld's comment,
"In most of my songs I try fairly ruthlessly to to stick to talking about my suburban roots - and much joy has it brought me. However it was a life lived in Lincolnshire and as valid as the tales of poachers and farmers."

I am a Lincolnshire lass. Born here and lived here most of my life. I love Lincolnshire and what it means to me and my family.

I wasn't brought up on a farm and I didn't have a father who was a fisherman etc etc. I do, however have just a few lovely memories of this county and sometimes they creep into my songs. If I tried to write more traditional songs, I think they would probably sound a bit contrived.

(Btw weelittledrummer have you got any other cds? Really enjoying listening to 'Sacre Bleu!' and 'St Peter and J.D.' Not creeping or being paid to say that, have a listen to wld's music on his website, great!) wee little drummer
