I once went to the Magpie..and because there were two of us, (at 5.30pm) we weren't allowed to sit by the (four seated) tables by the windows upstairs.
The are dozens of other wonderful F and C shops in Whitby..perhaps it's only because of Egon Ronay and Rick Stein that people queue there!!
(The Crab Salad was good though!!)
