I know I saw something here about this fairly recently, but I can't find it now.

Ex-hubby and son-age-11 have a new Windows XP computer built for them by a friend's teenager, so aside from XP, Firefox and Outlook Express (which is what they're used to) they need to add the software.

What open-source or otherwise free/cheap downloadable basic software can people recommend for basic word processing, spreadsheets, etc.?
