My daughter tells me that her college roommates don't want her opening her cans of kippered snacks in the room. She has to take it to the dorm kitchen to open, consume, then carefully wash all oil off of the lid and can before tossing them in the trash in that kitchen. She learned about washing off all of the oil here at home when people protested about the smell. Tastes good, just smells too strong. :)
