   I have to disagree with you on the safety issue (although it does depend on the make and the model of the vehicle). My husband was in a head on collision (other driver dropped something and when he bent to get whatever he dropped, he crossed the line) with a Chevy truck. My husband was in a Ford truck of the same size. The collision was so hard that the body of my husband's truck was knocked right off it's frame. At the time, we also had a GEO Metro. Had my husband been in that small, very gas mileage friendly car, he would not be alive today. I'll pay more for the gas, thanks.
