I have one of each, a Slingerland MayBelle tenor neck and an S. S. Stewart Universal Favorite 5-string neck (I replaced this with a Wyatt Fawley neck) and the Slingerland with a 5-string neck made for me by Jim Hyatt.

The Maybelle is pretty basic, but the Stewart is nice--my Stewart pot is a U.F. #1 but the neck probably a U.F. 2 or 3. Both are, of course, dowel stick construction.
