Thread Name: BS: Will this thread ever have 5000 posts?
Subject: RE: BS: Will this thread ever have 5000 posts?
GUEST I am smoking nothing (gave all that sort of thing years ago).
In June I posted this message to this thread:

"I have calculate (based on the current average daily posting and a devilish clever adjustment by application of Simpson's Rule and fitting the mean result by distribution under the Normal Curve and then by extrapolating the results), I predict that this post will have exactly 5000 posts at precisely 15 minutes past 5 o'clock on 28th December 2016, this date by an amazing coincidence coincides to the exact second with my 66th birthday. Now isn't that serendiptious"

Now to keep my prediction on track I need to make adjustments sometime, so I check the total number of posts periodically and compare it with the running total that I predicted for that day and I make subtle corrections. Sometimes I add and sometimes I delete posts. You GUEST sometimes get overenthusiastic and race ahead of my prediction so I have to take action and delete you inane comments and contributions. Sometimes I leave your comments because you are contributing at the pace I predicted.

This post is in effect an adjustment because GUEST you have slackened off and are posting too slow. If you don't keep up at the prediced rate then I will have to add posts in your name Sucker.
