I've been writing a song, but I'm sort of stuck. Perhaps someone can suggest something. Here's what I have so far:

It's a lesson too late for the learnin'
Made of wood, made of wood,
In the blink of an eye my soul is turnin'
To the 'hood, to the 'hood.

Something's just not quite right about it -- it doesn't quite express what I want to say.
