Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Bible Story - The Army-Navy version
Subject: The Bible Story - The Army-Navy version
My father taught us a song (a drinking song, from some of the verses) that he says he got out of the Army-Navy songbook (whatever that may be; it was a long time ago, anyway) which we are trying to find more verses for. The ones we know are:

Adam was the first man, he led a lonely life
He took a slat and dressed it up and had it for a wife
But Eve was fond of apples and she had to have a bite
So the angel with the fiery sword he chased them out of sight.

Adam was the first man, Eve was his spouse
They quit eating fruit one day and went to keeping house
Adam's life was happy and peaceful in the main
Till Eve she had a little son and took to raising Cain

Daniel was the fella with the cast-iron hide
The lions tried to eat him but they couldn't get inside
When old King Darius came and looked into the ring
"I fooled you once" said Daniel and the drinks were on the king.

Shadrak, Meshak, and Abednego
In the fiery furnace, a-standin' in a row
Belshazzar thought that he had put them chillun on the blink
Till one by one they all came out and hollered for a drink.

Esau was a farmer, a wild and woolly rake
His father left him half a farm and half to brother Jake
When Esau read the title to the land, it wasn't clear
So he sold it to his brother for a sandwich and a beer.

We have a few other verses (about Noah, Jonah, and David) but any info you can give us on this one would be much appreciated.
