If you have an electronic tuner, why do you need to hear the guitar to tune it????

I've never seen a preamp that had a built in tuner....

If you want to kill the feed while you're tuning, get a Boss TU2 peddle tuner... They're the BEST in the biz.....

It sounds to me, Scrump, like you are over-complicating things....
