I've converted many LPs to CD using a turntable I bought on the Internet from Garage-A-Records and a pre-amp that fits into an empty computer bay. The pre-amp is an XP201 from XP Sound. They have a website. It comes with software for music restoration, which is quite powerful. You can get rid of clicks, rumple, hum, and most of the other problems associated with old scratchy vinyl disks.
