My in-laws live in the South (U.S.) where they eat fried green tomatoes as though it were an actual food. I knew about the book and movie (Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whislte Stop Cafe) but thought they were fiction. I was persuaded, against my better judgment, to try some (they were pretty good, actually) and have never felt quite the same since. They're poison I tell ya, poison.
