I usually clamp my bouzouki to MY side of the table, so the only eejit within kicking distance is me. And as I use it for accompanying others as well as myself (in singy dos) as well as swapping with melodeon (in tuney dos) it's not at all practicable to return it to its case. But I agree that you have to take responsibility for your own instrument and not leave it where it is capable of being kicked by music lovers.
