I think that this has a lot do to with the fact that women will share their troubles.

Whether this is nature or nurture is open to discussion. There does still seem to be an attitude that 'boys don't cry' that may have something to do with it.

Boys also seem to be more embarrassed about opening up to the way they feel. Girls, on the other hand, don't seem able NOT to tell their friends about their feelings! It's a damn good safety valve IMHO.
