Pedantry can also be an indication of certain developmental disorders. In particular those with Asperger Syndrome, or Higher Functioning Autism, often have behavior characterized by pedantic speech [1]. Those with Asperger's tend to obsess over the minutiae of subjects, and are prone to giving long detailed expositions, and the related corrections, and may gravitate to careers in academia or science where such obsessive attention to detail is often rewarded.

You are perfectly aware that this thread was not started as a comment on or a reaction to any other thread than the judgement contained in the Some Buggers birthday thread.

For what it is worth - my opinion of OBIT threads on our forum will not change no matter who may have died.

But that is not stopping anyone with a different view from starting or contributing to such threads and as you are also fully aware - I make no judgement here of those who choose to do this. I would be greateful if you would stop posting only to make personal judgements on my worth.
