Thread Name: Some buggars died.
Subject: RE: Some buggars died.
The whole point of posting on our forum for me is to able to post and read posters honest views.
The problem I find with all OBIT threads is that this is not always the case. We are all going to die but I feel that this is less important than how our lives are lived and the time of death - may not be thought the best time to celebrate this.
For when someone has just died - folk do not alway feel that posting their honest views is the right thing or feel they may be thought not to be showing enough respect if they do. Inhibiting free discussion in the thread in question in this way is bad enough but allowing all the other threads to be inhibited by the mere presence of obit threads is something else.
As demonstrated here - posters are even judged as being 'cruel and disgraceful' when they have not even opened or read any Obit threads let alone posted to them. But just by the coincidence of starting another thread at the same time as they share our forum's index of thread titles.
Perhaps all this may be well-intentioned but it is I suggest, taking the showing of respect - and this current witch-hunt on our forum a little too far? And the keeness for some to be seen to wish to use this unfortunate coincidence in this way, is showing our forum in a less than positive light.
