Hence the trepidation. At what point does an instrument become "traditional". As an example, the banjo is decidedly not of Irish, nor American origin. So it is probably not a traditional Irish instrument to some. But is anyone going to argue that it is not traditional American? I bet some would! The only truly traditional instrument might be a log...or perhaps a rock.
