Apologies for not saying anything earlier, but I've been down in Wales for the past week, in a computer-free zone.

I was very sad to hear of Sav's death, and had been planning to meet up with him (he had relocated with his family to south-west Wales from the Herts/Beds area) while I was in the area, only to get the sad news from Alan on the day I arrived there. I was very much looking forward to meeting him again but it was not to be.

As Ross says, Sav was a very talented flautist/whistle player, guitarist, singer and songwriter. I last had the great pleasure of playing with him in the band at Broadstairs. He leaves a wife and two young children, which makes his death all the more tragic. I hope some of those who knew him will support Alan's initiative and purchase the CD, which includes contributions by Sav.
