Hi Cap'n

We hosted the Echoes of Erin tour at Oakengates Theatre, Telford in 2002. It was a wonderful evening.

For the uninitiated. The tour comprises of young people who have won medals in the ALl Ireland Fleadh (competitions). This year in Letterkenny, Donegal.

We arranged for the performers to have a look round Blists Hill Victorian Museum and play a session in the pub. THey heard the word 'museum' and were not that impressed, but when they found it was an open air town and the pub was 'spit and sawdust' they had a great time and the session round a roaring fire was one of the best Ive ever been to.

What is so wonderful about the young performers is that they dont think playing traditional music is naff. They go around with headphines and CD players, and up to date music; keep in touch by mobile phone; and produce this wonderful music.

I didnt go to the Fleadh this summer... lack of funds.

Do enjoy the evening Cap'n. I wish I was nearer. Wonder if they will be in the UK in the New Year?
