Thread Name: Pozo Seco Singers...What happened to 'em?
Subject: RE: Pozo Seco Singers...What happened to 'em?
I had a college friend, Rudy Oborny, of Belleview, Nebraska, who just loved the Pozo Seco Singers. Rudy's a priest in Nebraska now, and I remember him every time I hear a Pozo Seco song. It's nice how songs bring back good memories.
Collectors' Choice Music has a nice CD of two Pozo Seco LP's, Time and I Can Make It With You. Here's the track listing: Time (1966)- Time
- It Ain't Worth The Lonely Road Back
- Tomorrow Is A Long Time
- If I Fell
- Come A Little Bit Closer
- Guantanamera
- I'll Be Gone
- Silver Threads And Golden Needles
- The House Of The Rising Sun
- She Understands Me
- You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'
I Can Make It With You (1967) - I Can Make It With You
- If I Were A Carpenter
- Johnny
- Changes
- Forget His Name
- Mary Jenkins
- Look What You've Done
- Almost Persuaded
- Diet
- Ribbon Of Darkness
- Blue Eyes
- I Believed You - (bonus track)
- Louisiana Man - (bonus track)
There's another one, The Little Darlin' Sound of Don Williams (with the Pozo Seco Singers), but the title of the CD is so dorky that I can't bring myself to buy it. Here's the track Listing:- 1. Strawberry Fields / Something
- 2. Spend Some Time With Me
- 3. Take My Hand For Awhile
- 4. Storybook Children
- 5. In My Life
- 6. Ruby Tuesday
- 7. Comin' Apart
- 8. Apt. No. 9
- 9. Always Something There To Remind Me
- 10. There's No Angel On My Shoulder
- 11. Follow Me Back To Louisville
- 12. Tears
I guess I have to admit that the lyrics and tunes tend toward triteness, but the recordings bring back good memories.
