In the end it all comes down to the same things:-
1) the other side have to pick a candidate who doesn't speak or resemble an alien life form. these do not grow on trees. the labour party of England had to wait 18 years before it came up with Tony Blair. They haven't clicked on yet, that they will be lost once they dethrone him.
2) more of you have to vote, and you have to persuade your friends that it matters if they don't vote. the people of England are quite as cynical as Americans, but even so nearly 20% more go out to vote at the time of a general election. if you can't appeal to their common sense, appeal to their unfair predjudices. But either way - if you want change, you must organise.
And its no use bitching about the lousy unfair media. Murdoch switched from backing the tories when he saw they were about to lose the next election - guys like Murdoch, and the big networks - they're like jackals - they want as big a slice as possible of whatever's going on.
