Thread Name: BS: Republican Stench
Subject: RE: BS: Republican Stench
Liebermann, Clinton, Pelosi, Feinstein...fascist mindsets. They want big-govt control as much as any of the Bush mafioso. Don't buy into the "difference" between Reps and Dems. If it's an incumbent, get rid of it.

I went in to vote early this week but decided to wait until there are some poll watchers around on election day. Got into a dispute about our small county's first use of electronic voting machines, too. Big change this time is optical scanning, but that's of paper ballots and the ballots will be held for 22 months, they say. The thing that upset me more was the single electronic machine in the courthouse. Sitting there just to condition us...get us used to its nasty presence. I grilled the women at the polling place about it and they didn't know squat. It's an ESS machine, I know about the software, etc. I told them it was an abomination and asked how they could allow it inside the building...they should be fine tuning it with sledge hammers. In walked a big oaf in boots and a cowboy hat, with his mousy wife, and he directed her to the electronic machine while I was still debating whether to vote early or wait...studying my sample ballot. I continued my conversation with the ladies and Hopalong chimed in saying I didn't know what I was talking about. Said he'd been using electronic voting for years in New York (should've known, a yankee). All I had to say was "Hillary" and "Schumer" to shut him up, then I pointed out to his wife that the machine she was voting on was private property, and the courts had already ruled that in a recount, ESS can deny access to their machines on the basis that the software is patented private propterty. Which means they will own her vote. She got HIGHLY agitated at this news, and the women at the table started barking at me and I thanked them and told them I'd be back on election day, when more people were looking over their shoulders.

These were the same three crones I danced with last time around because all the local candidates were running unopposed (gave them the "Soviet Union" lecture that time). And this is in a central Texas Republican county. Republicans running unopposed. But the same thing is going on 80 miles away on the other side of Austin. I know of one county over there where all the Democratic candidates are running unopposed. See, they predetermine who will win what in order to achieve a 50-50 balance. They offset that balance from time to time to create tension and backlash, but people, we're being played. The only way to beat the system is to VOTE AGAINST ALL INCUMBENTS. And vote for the one with the chance to win. There needs to be a MASSIVE rejection of the Republican/Democrat torture state. So vote the people who gave it to us out of office. Vote against the incumbents and vote for the one with the chance to win. This is the last chance we'll get to correct things with the ballot box in America.
