The irony of k.d. is that she is a lesbian and vegetarian who hails from the most right wing Canadian province which also happens to be the beef cattle capital of the country. Her "Meat Stinks" campaign didn't win her many fans in her community of Consort, Alberta.

The beauty of k.d. is her wondrous voice and singing ability, she takes a back seat to no one.

As a matter of interest, the town near which I live - Avonmore, Ontario - is her ancestral home, there are many of her relatives who still live in the area.
