I too am a father of two small children. I sure feel the pain of the families who have lost, I have visions of my own children as the victims.

I very rarely get on a soapbox, but in answer to your question, proper legislation WOULD have kept this from happening.

I'm not saying that this could never happen to my children, sure there are criminals in Canada with guns, there is always the risk of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But the chance of us ever having a gun effect our lives are so slight that they are incalculable.
