I tend to think of myself as an American (in a sense) when these matters come up, Amos, because half of my youth was spent living in the USA...and because I think of all of North America as a single entity. The political systems foisted on us are artificial impositions which divide us. I wish there were no borders at all, and a Star Trek kind of society where everyone was an equal citizen, everyone had a good standard of living, and they could all travel freely wherever they wanted to.

But quite aside from those serious thoughts, my comments about Texas and California were merely a joke in the spirit of the post that began this thread. ;-)

The fact is, Mexico has a very corrupt government, controlled by a few rich families, and they are in cahoots with the rich controllers in the USA, and the same is true in Canada. A sad situation all around.
