Microwave is good for melting lard prior to adding suet, peanuts, grain & sunflower hearts for bird cake. Can't imagine why these are so expensive in the shops, why does anyone buy them?

The bird-lawn is becoming very attractive, so much so that a juvenile peregrine falcon landed on top of the bird-table the other day. Seem an adult in the garden a few days ago too! Nature's way!
