Thread Name: Nov. Shanty Session (NH)
Subject: RE: Nov. Shanty Session (NH)
Someone sang "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda," Mark, I believe.

Who was the fella immediately to Jeri's left in the corner on the stool? I believe he was from Boston.

It was a good session!

Now, next month we should refresh some of our old Christmas sea songs. Let's see, there's the "Snow Shoveling Shanty," "Santa Come Back," and "Rolling Down to Bethlehem." Then there are songs like Robert Louis Stevenson's "Christmas at Sea" and C. Fox Smith's "Christmas Night" and "Home for Christmas." And there's also Jim Stewart's "The Winter Shanty." And what would Christmas be without a soleful rendition of Walt Kelly's "Good King Sauerkraut" or Tom Leher's "Christmas Carol"? And who can lead "We Wish You Would Clean Our Fish, Miss"?

Cheerily,
