In a press conference put on by the owners of the club, the Laugh Factory, Paul Rodriguez, who had double-billed with Richards, addressed a hostile crowd. He blamed in part the prevalence of the term "nigger" in rap music and black standup routines as a factor in the rant. Is their any credibility to that? Does the fact that we hear that word often, at least as often as I heard it in my childhood in Kentucky, mean we are becoming desensitized to it, or confused as to the circumstances in which it is acceptable or forbidden?
