The older versions of the Office Suite used to come with a program called Microsoft PhotoDraw. I actually had to install that old program on my computer even though they've discontinued it in the new versions because I had a few old files I needed that I couldn't open any other way. That program, ponderous as it is, will let you do all sorts of things to text, and integrate it into older versions of Word. I haven't tried using it in conjunction with the new version of Word.
