I went to MSG when I was a student in the 1960s. I sang my first song in English on the stage there on a Monday singers night, with Frank Duffy as the MC.I was terrified! I went back there every Monday evening for years until I moved to Hull to take up a teaching job there.
I saw Bert Lloyd there at least once and MacColl and Seeger several times. I also saw Christy Moore in his very early days, and, if I recall, Anne Briggs who was the most wonderful singer I have ever heard.
Those were the days!
