For later material, try Tom Russell's 'Cowboy Real' Philo PH 1146 - highlights are 'El Llano Estacado' and 'Roanie' - also his 'Song of the West' HMG 2501 and Ian Tyson's excellent 'Old Corrals and Sagebrush and Other Cowboy Culture Classics' Bear Family BCD 15437. Those don't skip over the terrain, they well and truly dig into the ground.
