I've seen a bodhran played standing up. It was on the Geneva performance of Riverdance. He seems to have it wedged onto his forearm. That might have been the PBS special that started this whole thing off. As for the bodhran, playing it beats the hell (pardon the pun) out of therapy after a crappy day.
