Musicians emote and share their souls. I have heard two classical musicians play identical instruments, exactly the same notes, the same compositions with technical accuracy. One might as well have played scales while the other brought the souls of composer, musician and audience together. I think it is true in all genres of music, Beyond words and our minds capacity to conceptualize musicians use music to communicate soul. Musicians, however skilled, do not get beyond the instruments and the notes and there is neither spirit nor life.
