HiJackThis! is capable of doing a whole lot of things, but is NOT generally recommended for use by the general public.

Everyone should have a copy, since it can be used to make very complete reports of machine status, and a number of expert advice sites will look at your report and recommend what needs to be done; but turning loose an "average user" with this program is "risky."

(We all know you're not "average," but there may be a few at the 'cat that are.)

I'm not familiar with BHODemon, but in WinXP and later versions of IE the needed tools are pretty much built in, unless you're facing a hidden rootkit or something else pretty exotic.
