JohninKS, your "Number 1" is exactly what happened to me this past summer. I thought I was being smart in paying a credit card bill in advance. Two months later they're calling me about a missed payment and assessed over $70 in charges. I went round and round with them; finally got it reduced to $35, still protesting.
