Thread Name: Looking for songs against racism
Subject: RE: Looking for songs against racism
Only a few days ago on a PBS special tribute to James Taylor, I heard the song "Shed a Little Light" (written by JT) performed by a group including the composer, and was again struck by the timelessness of the message; (this tune was on Taylor's 1991? recording New Moon Shine).   I think it's very worthwhile to post a few lines:

Let us turn our thoughts today to Martin Luther King
And recognize that there are ties between us
    All men and women
    Living on the earth
    Ties of hope and love
    Sister and brotherhood
    That we are bound together
In our desire to see the world become
A place in which our children
    Can grow free and strong
    We are bound together
By the task that stands before us
And the road that lies ahead
We are bound and we are bound

Thank you, JT.
