Darlin' Catters:Just wanted to thank everyone for all the time and effort in getting the animal songs to me for the Humane Society Benefit. The show was Friday night, and the folks turned out en masse to howl with us.
Pure magic. Remember the old saying about the Republican's tombstone epitaph? He didn't do anything, but he sure looked cool? It definately did NOT apply. There were folks from 2 to 84 years old, all dancing in the aisles and singing along. 'Daddy Wouldn't buy me a Bow-Wow' was a huge hit, and the obligatory 'Old Yeller' nearly caused a kleenex riot. The Disabled Ed Living Skills class that I used to teach came as well. One of the students is deaf and legally blind, so we managed to work in a few songs that she could sit on stage with us and put her hand on the guitar to "hear" the music.
All in all it worked out to raise a pretty good chunk of change for animal supplies, and we had some new folk music converts as well. We ran well beyond our time limit, didn't really care, and toasted you all repeatedly at the pub afterwards. Thanks again, Elle
