Subject: Request for YouTube Permathread
I just now am catching on to this and the power it will have in preserving and expanding folk music....I would like to propose a permathread.. I went to the Seekers site and it was just great...sound quality was quite good but even poor quality is better than losing say an older singer forever....I found some Clancy Brothers, Joan Baez, a great Newfoundland fiddler and accordian player and had just scratched the surface.
I also heard stuff at the music camp in B.C. this weekend that should be there..every bit of every workshop that people put together..I admit I went shopping during the coal mining and depression workshops but I understand they were wonderful. For people who can't attend camps, you can still get some of the flavor, learn some of the songs, see your friends up there etc. I guess it is not too hard to download upload whatever.
So let's think about it. Both referrals to stuff there and putting on new stuff. mg
