I made multiple phone calls til I found I locksmith that would come today. It was real important to me that there be new deadbolts both leading to the cellar from the house and on the inside exit door.

My basement was probably once a speakeasy and has a walk in rear entrance with a door at ground level and another as you enter the basement. We had replaced the ground level door when we moved in with what I thought was a good solid door. But all the rain we had this summer and fall warpped it beyond closing and I hadn't replaced it yet. Like Catspaw it just didn't seem critical in this quiet neighborhood. It's a custom size door, so I guess I better start researching.
