Women usually feel the sense of violatin more acutely but it is a personal thing.

I put in internal bolts on doors and hinge bolts as well. But I am not so sure I would like them locked when at home. Though the route to the outside from the bedroom by-passes those doors. The bolts are used when I go away weekends. The doors themselves are almost like cardboard but a burglar would not bother if he sussed-out the house - it takes too long and too much noise to get through them especially when they realised the hinge bolts where more substatial than the doors.

You can get cameras that e-mail the picture via cell phones - business types would not like to leave such evidence.

I also put in a webcam - USB to a PC in a hidden location, I have more than one PC. Let them find it.
