The Festival has started on Thursday for many years, with the
'members preview' concert at Lighthouse point. Not as huge
as the Friday or Saturday events, but often well-attended.

Rooms in Mystic are a lot cheaper on Thursday nights than on
Friday and Saturday, FWIW.
